We are back with a new update from the concept phase of EDGE16.
TU Wien Racing is back
It's October and that means only one thing - the new season is here and the team is working at full speed again after a short break. But what exactly happens in the team and in our workshop during this initial phase? The first few months are used to work out new concepts and ideas, design them and then simulate them. As we are of course always trying to make our racing car and its concept even better, a lot of time, work and energy goes into this phase.Another fixed component of this first month is the concept review, in which all steps and approaches are presented and explained to our members and alumni in order to get as much feedback as possible. This gives us another chance to become aware of any mistakes and eliminate them straight away.
While the technical side of the team is working on the concept for EDGE16, the organizational side is kept busy with tasks such as finding sponsors, budget meetings, logo and shirt designs, the recruiting phase and much more. The annual calendar shoot is also already underway.
This year, we had our recruiting phase for the coming season from September 23 to October 13, 2024. We were able to generate a lot of new interest, conduct many interviews and welcome motivated and talented new members. We were able to welcome our 44 newbies directly at a kick-off on October 19 in our workshop.
And what would the start of the season be without a exhibiting? Not a proper start to the season! This October, we are once again working hard to make interested parties aware of our racing car and our team. Be it at the Career Calling Fair, at the Technical University, the Long Night of the Apprentice Workshop at BMW in Steyr or at the HTL Zero Emission Challenge, we were there!
Testing is once again a fixed item on the weekly schedule.
