Updated: Jan 12, 2023

Dear friends, dear supporters and dear fans!

We hope that you made it through the last weeks/months in good health and would like to give you an update regarding the manufacturing of the EDGE13.

Winter semester 2021/22

The new semester at the university has started and the recruitment phase was completed at the end of November. In total, we are now 91 members from 15 different fields of study and 11 different nationalities, divided into nine technical and five organizational modules.

We are also proud to welcome Lisa Widmeyer as the first female team captain since TU Wien Racing was founded almot 15 years ago.

EDGE13 As announced in the "December 2020" Newsflash, the EDGE13 will launch driverless and feature all-wheel drive. Here is an overview of the current technical progress of the EDGE13:

  • The ureol molds for tooling the monocoque have successfully been prepared in the workshop and are currently being milled.

  • The wiring harness, as well as its correct layout, is being developed.

  • The stator laminations for the electric motors are already coated.

  • In the Driverless module, the software for autonomous driving is being developed and continuously tested for its function.

  • The simulations of the monocoque and its layer structure are in the final stages of development.

Christmas magic in the workshop

In strict compliance with the required Corona restrictions, the office was transformed into a Christmas workshop in mid-December. Around 10 helpers pitched in to create Christmas cards for all team members and pack the calendars for 2022. Thanks to our hard-working colleagues, all calendars are now on their way to our sponsors.

We look forward to the coming weeks with great confidence and full drive and thank you for your generous support. Furthermore, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Until then!

Your TU Wien Racing
